You can help us add to Here in the Past from home!

The documents below provide an introduction to census and directory files and explain how to transcribe the data from these sources into a format that we can add to the website. You should read these before transcribing data into the template pages.

There are also guides to writing street histories and collecting oral interviews. Our notes about abbreviations, place names and old occupations may also be useful when working with local history resources.

Over the summer of 2019 we are particularly keen to add the following street data to the website: Powys Grove, Terminus Street, Tandridge Road, Norman Road, Brunswick Road, York Road, Chesham Street.

If you'd like to join in, email office@rth.org.uk to tell us which street you are working on and keep us up-to-date with your progress!
